Ralitsa Petrova

Ralitsa is researching how stem cells decide their fate and how these decisions affect function in the developing and diseased brain. She gets excited about translating discoveries from basic research into developing novel therapeutics. With a people-oriented approach at B2I, Ralitsa is leading the charge on connecting academics to the therapeutic sector. When she's not contemplating the fate of her cells or her fellow trainees, Ralitsa can be found exploring the great outdoors or indoors enjoying captivating music.

Eirini Vagena

Eirini studied in Scotland before coming to UCSF where she is investigating the brain pathways involved in obesity and diabetes. Eirini aims to understand how impaired metabolism can lead to neurodegenerative and neurological disorders. She is exploring the extraordinary biotech opportunities in the Bay area and wants to help other UCSF trainees do the same. When she is not in the lab, Eirini can be found hiking or backpacking through the beautiful parks of California.
